SafeWork SA is expanding its compliance and enforcement unit to a record 138 officers, adding 32 new FTE including 17 inspectors and 3 investigators. NSW
Flow Power plans a 100 MW, 200 MWh big battery next to Corowa substation in NSW to boost grid reliability and integrate renewable energy. Construction is expected in 2027 with operations in 2029, creating 70 local jobs and providing $1.05 million in community benefits while supporting Flowâs growing renewable portfolio.
The Albanese and Minns Governments are investing $130 million to upgrade Avoca Drive, easing congestion and improving safety for 26,000 daily motorists. The first stage will widen a one-kilometre section in Kincumber, add shared paths and upgraded intersections, with design and assessment consultation planned for early 2026.
The NSW Government is investing $4 million to deliver a portable water treatment plant and develop new PFAS-free bores for Narrabri. The plant will treat contaminated groundwater to safe drinking standards, increasing supply reliability and easing restrictions for the townâs 7,000 residents within months.
QLD
The federal government has approved Samsung C&Tâs 300 MW Dunmore Solar Farm and 150 MW/300 MWh battery in regional Queensland within 19 days. Built on cleared land near existing transmission lines, the project will create 350 construction jobs and deliver clean, affordable power to support Australiaâs renewable energy transition.

Work has begun on George Townâs new year-round Indoor Aquatic, Health and Wellbeing Centre, featuring a heated 25-metre pool, warm-water pool, gym, allied health suites and cafĂŠ. The $17.5 million project, jointly funded by federal and state governments, will deliver modern, accessible recreation facilities for the community.

The Western Australian Government has announced a diversification of its nation-leading economy by making more things in-state â with local green steel to be used in major government projects.
