NSW
Bellingen Shire Council has completed its largest infrastructure program, delivering 31 new and upgraded bridges under the Fixing Country Bridges Program. Backed by $34.4 million from state, federal and council funding, the works improve safety, connectivity and resilience, highlighting the power of strong regional and multi-government collaboration.
City of Newcastle plans to transform a remediated Shortland landfill into a community energy precinct featuring solar, battery storage and EV charging. Part of the draft Climate Action Plan 2030, the project supports net zero targets, renewable energy access, community benefits and long-term emissions reduction, pending public consultation and funding.
QLD
The $18.53 billion plan also includes revised masterplans and timelines for the delivery of new hospitals and major infrastructure upgrades.
Squadron Energy secures $1 billion financing for Clarke Creek Wind Farm Stage 2 in central Queensland. Combined with Stage 1, the project will generate over 1 GW of renewable energy, powering 700,000 homes, cutting emissions, and delivering $20 million in community benefits, reinforcing Australia’s transition to clean energy and regional investment.

Introducing The Inside Scoop, a new newspaper sharing updates on South Australia’s largest infrastructure project, River Torrens to Darlington (T2D). Discover project progress, construction zone maps, community stories, and the people behind the works, as T2D delivers a non-stop South Road between Gawler and Old Noarlunga.
The South Australian Government has called on councils to prepare Local Area Plans outlining how they will meet new housing targets under updated regional plans. The plans will guide place-based growth, housing supply and infrastructure delivery, with Greater Adelaide councils required to complete them by June 2028.

The first stage of Melbourne’s Greenline Project has opened at Birrarung Marr, delivering a $39 million transformation of the Yarra’s north bank. The project will create a four-kilometre riverfront promenade with parklands, boardwalks, cultural spaces and active transport, enhancing access, jobs and visitor experiences.
Yanara has appointed Gamuda Australia to deliver the $700 million Mortlake Energy Hub in southwest Victoria, featuring a 360 MW solar farm and 600 MWh battery. The hybrid project will support grid reliability, create over 200 regional construction jobs, and provide clean, dispatchable power for about 200,000 homes.

Partnerships with Victoria University and Sustainability Victoria showcase circular-economy innovation in civil construction.
